Zwile Bhembe Celebrates Love with New Single Choose

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Zwile Bhembe marks anniversary month with heartfelt love anthem celebrating commitment and marriage.

Saxophonist and music creative Zwile Bhembe has released his heartfelt new single Choose, a soulful love song featuring Mvuselelo Matse, known by his stage name as EmVee that speaks to the beauty of commitment, choosing your partner, and building a forever bond.

Inspired by his own marriage journey, Zwile revealed that the song was born out of a season of gratitude and love. “Choose is a tune that is personal to me,” he explained. “I am one person who believes in seasons in a lifetime, some sad, some joyful, some successful, and some are lessons to do better. This song was written in a season where I have been married for a year now. My marriage has inspired me to speak out about how I feel about my wife and the journey we have been through together.”

The single highlights commitment as a cornerstone of lasting relationships. “The message of the song emphasises commitments and love, which go hand in hand in building a successful relationship. I don’t mean to say everything is perfect, but with commitment and love I’ve learned that we will go far with our marriage. One of the lines in the chorus says, ‘I’m gonna love you forever, you are my ride or die’, and that’s the gospel of possibilities I’m preaching in today’s love scene,” Zwile shared.

Interestingly, the collaboration with EmVee came about unexpectedly during a casual studio session. “The collaboration is something that was unplanned really. I had written the song earlier this year, and when I finished fitting my home studio I called the guys to come explore the space. When I opened Choose, the gents quickly vibed with it, and within minutes EmVee came with the verse,” Zwile recalled.

With its jumpy beat and colorful melodies, Choose is more than just a song, it’s a celebration of love’s joy and rhythm. “At some point when we were creating the song we were acting out a wedding step in the studio just for the fun of it, and also to make sure it vibes well with those special wedding moments. We are Africans well known for our rhythm and melodies, so why not incorporate that into a big song like this one?”

The music video, which premiered alongside the song’s release, adds another dimension to the storytelling. “For every artist, music and visuals go well together, especially in the world we’re living in now. Some listeners relate better when they watch what they are listening to. From the emotions of the performers to the creativity of the videographers, it all just works better for the best,” Zwile said.

Beyond being a love anthem, Choose carries a universal message. “My aim is for my listeners to relate to the lyrics and instantly think of the person closest to their heart, to mend broken relationships, and to rekindle love in hopeless lovers. Love is a two-way street, you can even choose yourself first before finding someone to share that love with. That’s what the song is about: to choose yourself, choose someone, and to be chosen,” Zwile explained.

On a more personal note, Zwile reflected on the meaning of choosing his wife every day. “Choosing my partner means being there for her through it all. It means sticking by her through thick and thin. We just had our baby boy, and pregnancy wasn’t that pleasant for my wife. There were a lot of ups and downs both emotionally and physically, so every day I had to intentionally choose to love her through the mood swings, the emotional rollercoaster, and all that. She’s my everything. Even after the kids have moved out, it’ll still be just the two of us, because I chose her, and by marrying her I subconsciously vowed to choose her every day.”

Fittingly, Zwile released Choose during his wedding anniversary month, making the single not only a celebration of music but also a tribute to his own love story.
