Sedco Launches Entrepreneurship Training Programme

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO) has unveiled its 2025/2026 entrepreneurship training programme, a structured initiative designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs and pre-startups with practical skills to grow sustainable businesses.

The first session is set for 22–26 September 2025 at the Manzini SEDCO Estate, with a fee of E890 per participant, meals excluded. Graduates will receive a SEDCO-recognised certificate, opening doors to funding opportunities and business growth.

SEDCO Chief Executive Officer, Khethiwe Mhlanga, said the programme is part of SEDCO’s mission to strengthen Eswatini’s entrepreneurial landscape.

“Our mandate is to ensure that no dream dies because of lack of guidance. We want to empower emaSwati with tools that transform ideas into enterprises and enterprises into sustainable businesses,” she said.

She highlighted that the training will focus on pre-startups and aspiring entrepreneurs, covering key areas such as business planning, financial management, costing, pricing, and marketing.

“This is not about theory. It’s about practical knowledge entrepreneurs can apply immediately,” she added.

Mhlanga also stressed the importance of networking.

“Entrepreneurs don’t grow in isolation. This programme provides a platform for them to connect with peers, mentors, and industry players who can help them thrive,” she said.

Beyond Manzini, sessions will be held in Sidvwashini, Piggs Peak, Buhleni, Siteki and Mankayane between October 2025 and April 2026, with specialised training for existing business owners also included.

Mhlanga concluded by reaffirming SEDCO’s commitment to national growth.

“Business growth is our business. By empowering entrepreneurs with the right skills, we are building Eswatini’s future economy and creating jobs for generations to come,” she said.

Registration for the September intake is already open, with limited spaces available.
