Africa-Press – Eswatini. Friday morning marked a proud moment for Manzini North as Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini commissioned the newly built Mzimnene Community Hall and toured Government-funded development projects worth a combined E16.4 million.
The projects, which include the upgrading of the Moyeni, Stekstroom and Mpholi roads, along with the construction of the Dwaleni Community Hall, are set to benefit more than 1 150 residents, strengthening infrastructure and community life in the area.
Speaking during the tour, the Prime Minister described the commissioning as a victory for both Government and the people, urging the community to take ownership of the facilities.
“The purpose of today’s visit is to assess the progress of projects, identify areas where we may have fallen short, and make the necessary improvements so that development and assistance truly reach the people,” he said.
The Prime Minister drew inspiration from His Majesty King Mswati III’s words, reminding the community that the Nkwe mandate is the backbone of the Government’s development drive.
“His Majesty has called on us to reach all emaSwati, in both urban and rural areas, and this is exactly what these projects represent,” he emphasised.
Dlamini expressed satisfaction with the pace of development, describing the new infrastructure as a strong foundation for sustainable growth.
“We are delighted to witness tangible progress that improves livelihoods and brings real change to the people of Eswatini,” he said.
The atmosphere in Manzini North was one of pride and anticipation as residents welcomed the developments that not only improve roads and halls but also open doors for social cohesion, business, and better access to services.
The Mzimnene Community Hall now stands as a beacon of opportunity for gatherings, cultural events, and community programmes, while the improved road network promises smoother connections for farmers, traders, and daily commuters.
With the tour complete, the Prime Minister urged the people to protect and maintain what has been delivered, saying development is a shared responsibility.
Indeed, Manzini North woke up to more than just bricks and tar on Friday, it woke up to the promise of a stronger, more connected community.
