Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Siteki Town Council has set its sights on developing the 55% of land that remains vacant in the town, as part of its new branding and marketing strategy launched on Tuesday , 21 October 2025, at the council premises.
The launch, themed “From the Place of Marriage to a Mountain-Top of Endless Possibilities,” marked a new phase for Siteki’s growth, with leaders saying the rebrand will attract investors and drive urban development under the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) 2024–2029.
Lubombo Regional Administrator Themba Msibi, who was guest of honour, said the new brand should help expose Siteki to new investment opportunities that can transform its unused land into productive spaces.
“We look forward to the positive impact this new branding will have on the town, the region, and the country,” said Msibi. “We are hopeful that the launch will attract developers for the stadium and business sector to partner with the state and the town for bigger projects.”
Msibi added that the launch came at the right time, as October is a month dedicated to municipalities worldwide through World Urban October, which this year runs under the theme “Smart Cities for All.”
Mayor Bongisipho Dlamini said the rebranding was more than just a new logo,it was a statement of growth, innovation, and unity for the people of Siteki.
“The branding and marketing plan is not only about the physical items we see, but about renewing the council’s identity,” said the Mayor. “It defines who we are, what we stand for, and where we are going. Together, let’s build a stronger, brighter, and more vibrant Siteki.”
Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Simon Zwane, said the rebranding reflects Siteki’s renewed commitment to sustainable and inclusive urban growth.
“This rebranding is not merely about a new logo. It represents a strengthened commitment to urban development and the use of technology to improve service delivery,” said Zwane.
He commended the council for aligning the new brand with the World Urban October theme and for embracing smart city tools such as digital platforms for permit applications, facility bookings, and customer feedback.
According to the Town Council’s Integrated Development Plan, 45 percent of Siteki’s land is already developed, while 55 percent remains vacant, presenting huge potential for housing, commercial, and industrial growth.
The council hopes the new brand will serve as a magnet for local and international investors, turning the vacant spaces into business centres, residential projects, and green public areas that will improve the town’s image and economy.
As part of its long-term vision, the Siteki Town Council aims to become a smart, eco-friendly, and investor-attractive town, creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and providing efficient services to its residents.
