Government Seeks Satisfactory Salary Review for Security Officers

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Thabile Mdluli, the Acting eSwatini Government Spokesperson says even though the implementation of a salary review for soldiers, police and Correctional Services officers has been delayed, “the consultant is working tirelessly to finalize the report”.

In a statement released on Thursday afternoon, the Acting Government Spokesperson described the delay as a deeply regrettable situation.

“Consultants have, however, assured Government that the Salary Review component of the uniformed forces is being finalised, working in consultation with relevant stakeholders to ensure that a satisfactory outcome is reached. This process is envisaged to be completed on time to enable the implementation of the Salary Review for all uniformed forces by their normal pay dates in November 2025”, reads the statement in part.

The Acting Government Spokesperson further clarified the delay in paying security officers their October salaries despite the fact that, they were not included in this month’s salary review payments.

“Regrettably, the Treasury Department was unable to process the normal October salaries for uniformed forces due to systematic limitations, as the national payroll system is only able to process salaries for permanent employees simultaneously, hence the reason uniformed forces have also been affected by delayed salaries for all public servants this month,” she said.
