Africa-Press – Eswatini. OncAura is stepping up in the fight against breast cancer as it takes the lead in hosting the Brave the Breast Walk 2025 on Saturday, 1 November 2025, starting from Lobamba Technical Centre.
The initiative forms part of OncAura’s ongoing commitment to raising breast cancer awareness and promoting community health across Eswatini.
While the Brave the Breast Walk has traditionally been organised by the Eswatini Breast and Cervical Cancer Network (SBCCN), this year marks the first time OncAura has partnered as the main host and sponsor of the event. Originally launched as a tribute to Jane King, a local woman who lost her life to breast cancer, the walk has grown into one of Eswatini’s major community events, drawing hundreds of participants each year.
Speaking on the initiative, Lindiwe Fokazi, Chief Operations Officer for Radiotherapy Services at OncAura, underscored the importance of community-driven health initiatives.
“At OncAura, we believe that awareness is the first step towards prevention. By championing the Brave the Breast Walk, we hope to help Emaswati learn more about cancer prevention and support, and to meet families who have conquered cancer in Eswatini. Our main aim is to let those living with cancer know that they are not alone. This event will inspire early detection, empower families with knowledge, and remind every woman in Eswatini that she is supported in this fight,” said Fokazi.
Although OncAura is now leading the initiative, the event continues to benefit from the strong backing of community partners such as InstaCash, who have played a vital role in sustaining the walk’s legacy over the years.
“While InstaCash is relatively new to the scene, the Brave the Breast Walk has a rich history in our community. It has evolved into an important fundraiser and awareness platform for the Swaziland Breast and Cervical Cancer Network (SBCCN),” said Nkonyane of InstaCash.
“Corporate responsibility goes beyond providing financial services; it’s about investing in the health and well-being of our people. By supporting this event, we aim to use our resources and platform to magnify its impact, ensuring that the courageous legacy of individuals like Jane King continues to save lives and support families across Eswatini.”
Through initiatives like the Brave the Breast Walk, OncAura and its partners continue to demonstrate a united front in the fight against breast cancer—proving that collaboration, compassion, and community awareness remain powerful tools in saving lives.
