Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has hailed the construction of the Lugaganeni–Luve Road as a major milestone that will unlock economic opportunities and improve the lives of communities along its route.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony held on Friday, the King said the project, which will cost in the region of E400 million, represents another step in the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and accelerate rural development.
“This road will not only connect our people but will also bring with it jobs, investment, and greater development opportunities,” His Majesty said, addressing hundreds of residents who gathered to witness the event.
“Infrastructure such as this is key to the nation’s progress and to improving the quality of life for emaSwati.”
The Lugaganeni–Luve Road is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two areas, easing transportation for farmers, businesses, and commuters.
The road will also improve access to schools, clinics, and markets long seen as barriers to growth in this part of the country.
The King further expressed confidence that the project will stimulate local employment during and after its construction phase. “Our people should seize this opportunity to work hard, learn new skills, and contribute to the development of their country,” he said.
Residents in the area welcomed the project, describing it as long overdue. They said the new road will make it easier to transport produce, reach markets, and attract investors.
The Lugaganeni–Luve Road forms part of the broader national infrastructure plan aimed at improving connectivity and boosting rural development. Once completed, the road is expected to bring lasting social and economic benefits to the region.
