UEDF CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF FIVE MILITARY CAREER COURSES

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) has reached another milestone as it proudly marked the completion of five military career courses on November 11, 2025.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Defence Principal Secretary HRH Prince Sicalo and Chief Defence Officer HRH Prince Hlangabeza.

The historic ceremony celebrated the successful conclusion of the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course, Platoon Commander’s Battle Course, Basic Drill and Duties Course, Vehicle Maintenance Course, and Basic Military Police Course, all conducted concurrently across various UEDF establishments. These programs were designed to enhance readiness ahead of Eswatini’s upcoming national ceremonies.

Officiating the ceremony, UEDF Commander General Mashikilisana Hulumende Fakudze congratulated both instructors and participants for their dedication and discipline. He encouraged graduates to apply the knowledge gained in their respective units, highlighting that experience and continuous learning are key to aligning with global military standards.

“Equipping oneself is vital for future growth within the military,” General Fakudze emphasized.

Meanwhile, HRH Prince Hlangabeza commended the 169 graduates for their unwavering commitment to service and to protecting Eswatini’s sovereignty. He reminded them to uphold their oath of duty and always prioritize the State’s interests above all.

“Your loyalty and discipline form the foundation of our nation’s security,” he stated.

In another development, the UEDF reported continued vigilance against livestock smuggling and other cross-border crimes. Troops recently intercepted a 59-year-old man, Celimpilo Ntshangase of Sivule area, found with twelve suspected stolen goats. Both the suspect and the exhibits were handed over to the relevant law enforcement agency.

The Defence Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining national security and commended all troops for their relentless efforts in curbing criminal activity, including the rising challenge of dagga smuggling.

“We commend our troops for their dedication and professionalism in safeguarding the kingdom’s borders,” the UEDF stated.
