Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini has positioned itself as a prime destination for tourism, trade, and investment on the global stage, following a compelling presentation delivered by Senator Linda Nxumalo at the Clevenard Seminar and Panel Discussion Forum held on Friday, November 22, 2025 in Spain.
Addressing an audience of diplomats, business leaders, investors, and development partners, Senator Nxumalo said Eswatini was ready to deepen international partnerships and unlock new economic opportunities. She described the forum as a vital platform for fostering cooperation and showcasing Eswatini’s strengths across several sectors.
Speaking passionately about the country’s tourism appeal, Nxumalo said Eswatini remained one of Africa’s most authentic and welcoming destinations. She highlighted the country’s rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and safe, intimate travel experiences as major drawcards for the modern tourist seeking meaningful and sustainable travel.
“Eswatini is small in size, but it is immensely rich in beauty, culture, and warmth,” she said. “Our festivals such as Umhlanga and Incwala are not performances staged for tourists; they are living traditions that reflect our identity and unity. Today’s travellers are looking for authentic human-centred experiences, and Eswatini offers exactly that.”
She added that government, working closely with the private sector, continues to invest in improving tourism infrastructure, digital accessibility, hospitality training, and environmental conservation. These developments, she noted, were strengthening the country’s competitiveness and ensuring that visitors receive a seamless and memorable experience.
Turning to trade, Nxumalo emphasised Eswatini’s strategic position within the Southern African region. As a member of SADC, SACU, and the African Continental Free Trade Area, the country offers producers access to hundreds of millions of consumers.
“We have a stable trade environment supported by diverse export sectors—from agri-processing and textiles to forestry, beverages, and unique artisan products,” she said. “With ongoing reforms, we are strengthening our capacity to participate in regional and international value chains.”
On investment, the Senator stressed that Eswatini’s political stability, security, and responsible governance form a solid foundation for business confidence. She outlined key sectors prioritised for investment, including tourism infrastructure, renewable energy, agro-processing, manufacturing, ICT, and commercial agriculture.
“The government continues to implement policies that make doing business easier and more transparent,” she said. “Our goal is to create opportunities that are sustainable, mutually beneficial, and aligned with our national development priorities.”
Nxumalo also highlighted Eswatini’s readiness to engage in partnerships with European investors, particularly from Spain, noting the growing global interest in Africa’s emerging markets. She encouraged tour operators, entrepreneurs, and development organisations to explore opportunities in Eswatini, describing it as a country with untapped potential and a welcoming business environment.
“Come to Eswatini. Discover our potential. Partner with us. Grow with us,” she urged.
In her concluding remarks, Nxumalo said Eswatini was a nation defined by resilience, ambition, and opportunity. She stressed that tourism offered authenticity, trade offered access, and the country’s investment climate provided stability and growth.
“As we celebrate global collaboration today, let us also celebrate the partnerships that support shared prosperity,” she said.
The Clevenard event brought together international stakeholders committed to strengthening global economic ties, with Eswatini emerging as a confident voice ready for greater international engagement.
