Africa-Press – Eswatini. SMALLZ the comedian is slowly making his way back into the comedy scene after a year of no activity.

The comedian has also returned from South Africa where he was based.Lungelo Gina has had more than three events this year in Eswatini since his return.His two most recent shows were held at Mpolonjeni and Bamboo, both in Siteki; with the latter being held this past Saturday.

His management said since the comedian returned his fan base has increased on social media.They mentioned that Gina has been in the country for a couple of months and already has shows lined up for the year.

“It has been a couple of months since the comedian returned to the country after spending almost half a year working in South Africa collaborating with his colleagues in the arts industry, especially in comedy,” said his management team.

They said his relocation to South Africa helped him acquire more experience and exposure in the industry.

“He worked with Ngobe Media; Smallz had a chance to work on a program sponsored by DStv for artists. Other deals in South Africa included collaborating with artists like Siyanda Maphumulo, Simphiwe Shembe, Nonto R, Aknak Pruu together with a lot of other artists creating comedy skits where he raised the Swazi flag,” the statement added.

He headlined a lot of successful shows in Mpumalanga and Kwa-Zulu Natal. According to his management team, the comedian remains popular in the country with over 600 000 followers on Facebook and over 62 000 on YouTube.

“Since coming back in the country we have started collaborations with Gedlembane and making video skits everyday. This is also in line with building confidence with followers.

It is worth mentioning that despite setbacks Smallz the comedian brand is still well-positioned in the industry as he is still receiving corporate gigs from local companies and in South Africa,” they said.

They said they were aware that the comedian’s fans were hungry for a nationwide show and would be announcing tour dates soon.

“As a team, a different approach to hosting local shows is being considered. We are planning on filming every show we make to come up with a documentary for our shows. We are yet to announce shows which will be headlined by Smallz and Gedlembane. All these details will be announced in due course,” smallz’s team said.

They added that their aim was not to focus on negativity but to work on building a strong brand for their craft.
