Africa-Press – Eswatini. 50 pieces of computer hardware were donated on 10 February 2026 as Southern Star Logistics partnered with Business Eswatini to strengthen digital education at Manzini Nazarene Practising Primary School.
The donation includes 28 desktop computers, 7 laptops and 15 monitors, equipping young learners with practical digital skills and helping close the digital gap at primary school level. Southern Star Logistics Managing Director Nic DeWaal officially handed over the equipment, highlighting the importance of technology in preparing children for the modern world.
DeWaal emphasized that technology has become a necessity for development and empowerment, noting that early exposure to digital tools helps shape a generation ready for the demands of a fast-changing economy. Southern Star Logistics, a joint venture between Unitrans and South Star Logistics focused on road haulage and agriculture, views education as a key driver of national growth.
By investing in primary education, the company is helping prepare future professionals for technology-driven industries such as modern logistics and smart agriculture, where digital literacy is increasingly essential.
Business Eswatini CEO E. Nathi Dlamini applauded the initiative, saying private sector investment in education plays a vital role in building resilient communities and strengthening the country’s human capital.
ICT teacher Mndeni Langa said the equipment will transform lessons from theory into hands-on learning, giving learners a strong foundation before entering secondary school. Headteacher Gama expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that the donation will significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes.
The new equipment marks a major step forward for the school and ensures learners gain the computer skills needed to thrive in today’s digital world. Southern Star Logistics’ contribution reflects its continued commitment to supporting education and contributing to the long-term development of Eswatini.
