Africa-Press – Eswatini. Machawe Mavuso, the former Mkhiweni Member of Parliament (MP) has urged football governing bodies to take action against referees found to have made unjust decisions.
Speaking on Tuesday, the former MP said “it’s very unfortunate to note that most of the time, referees escape accountability” even on clear blunders, he was reacting to a statement released by the Sincemphetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) condemning the violence that erupted at Mavuso Trade Centre during the Ingwenyama Cup on Sunday.
“Why it’s always the teams who must apologise and be held accountable whenever fans behave violently?. I think holding referees accountable can mitigate such violent incidents,” said the former MP.
