Africa-Press – Eswatini. Stefanutti Stocks and WBHO Construction (Pty) Ltd have been awarded the over R2.5billion tender to construct the Siphofaneni-Sithobela-Maloma-Nsoko (MR14) and Maloma-Siphambanweni (MR21) Roads under tender No 275 of 2024/2025.
This was communicated by Acting Chief Roads Engineer Mthunzi Fakudze through a letter dated 12th March 2026 and addressed to Stefanutti Stocks and WBHO, this marks the beginning of the construction of the road.
Efforts to reach Sithobelweni Member of Parliament (MP) Mancoba Sihlongonyane and Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
But Sithobelweni ex-MP Bhekitje Dlamini thanked Government for the commencement of the project, he said residents were eagerly waiting for the construction of the road.
“As residents we are very happy, we have been early waiting for the road for over thirty (30) years,” said the former MP when speaking.
On another note, Sithobelweni resident from the Mamba Kingdom in the Lubombo Region Velaphi Mamba who was vocal, calling for the upgrading of the road, told this publication that, the tender has been awarded to reputable construction companies, Stefanutti Stocks and WBHO Construction (Pty) Ltd.
Mamba said, this means as residents, they will receive quality road based on these companies historical record of producing quality roads.
Stefanutti Stocks and WBHO Construction (Pty) Ltd have been engaged even by other countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to construct roads.
