Africa-Press – Eswatini. Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla says her ultimate goal in public service is to leave a legacy defined by positively transforming the lives of emaSwati.
Speaking during an interview, the Deputy Prime Minister indicated that while it may not be possible to reach everyone, making a meaningful difference in the lives of even a portion of the population would be fulfilling.
Commitment to Continued Service Beyond 2028
Dladla stated that she remains ready to serve beyond 2028, should she be called upon to do so. She noted that her willingness to contribute to national development would not be limited by position, as she would continue to support communities even outside formal office.
She emphasised that she still has the energy and capacity to serve, whether at national level or within her immediate community, highlighting a long-term commitment to public service.
Focus on Fast-Tracking Development
The Deputy Prime Minister also stressed the importance of implementing development plans swiftly to maximise impact.
She explained that delays in implementation often reduce the effectiveness of programmes and place unnecessary strain on available resources. Faster execution, she said, would enable government to deliver results more efficiently and reach beneficiaries sooner.
According to Dladla, timely implementation also helps in managing costs, as prolonged delays can lead to increased expenditure when new demands arise before existing projects are completed.
Efficiency Key to Sustainable Development
Dladla noted that efficient use of resources is essential in ensuring sustainable development outcomes. She indicated that when projects are implemented promptly, government is better positioned to allocate resources to other pressing needs without overextending budgets.
She added that improved efficiency in planning and execution would strengthen service delivery and enhance the overall impact of government programmes.
