Mbabane East MP Donates Soccer Gear to Mphalati Stars

Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mbabane East Member of Parliament (MP) Welcome Dlamini has on behalf of Mphalati Dribbling Stars received a donation of soccer boots and balls valued at E12 000 from Copper Properties.

This was on April 20, 2026 at the company offices in Mbabane. Dlamini said coincidentally, he was also a Dribbling Wizards supporter. He said he grew up supporting the team and he was Dibbling Wizards at heart. He said he shared the same passion as the management of the team which eventually gave birth to Mphalati Dribbling Stars.

The MP tanked Cooper Properties for the generous donation and disclosed that it was not for the first time the company has supported the team. He said he was also present last year when Cooper Properties presented a training facility to the team.

Their support, Dlamini said, showed that they were true and loyal friends of the team. He said they really appreciated the donation of soccer boots and soccer balls. He noted that playing equipment was crucial for any football club’s good performance on the field of play. He said no team can grind positive results without proper equipment as they would not even be able to have proper training sessions as a team.

“It is even worse when you are a disorganised team in the field of play. I am sure that with the availability of this equipment, the performance of Mphalati Dribbling Stars will also improve greatly. I am told they are currently battling relegation and I am optimistic that with the availability of this equipment, they will now survive relegation,” he said.

Dlamini noted that it has been the love shown by Copper Properties that will help the team survive relegation. He reflected on His Majesty the King’s church sermon where he talked about showing each other Agape Love as Emaswati. The MP said what Copper Properties had done was nothing less of Agape Love in reality and in practice as spoken about by the King. He said Agape Love should not be something spoken about figuratively but must be practiced practically.

He noted that they were optimistic that all would now go well for the team following the sponsorship. Dlamini informed Copper Properties management of the Sports Bill in Parliament which he said as Members of Parliament (MPs) it was their responsibility to ensure that companies who support sports in any way of form must have an incentive in form of tax remit or any other form that would attract more companies to support sport, especially soccer.

He urged the sponsors not to be discouraged by violence at stadia during games and said that was something the country would soon address. He said they hoped that they would be represented by the benefitting team which campaigns in the Mbabane Regional League and said they hoped that more companies would come on board and support sports.
