Africa-Press – Eswatini. The soldier held in custody for allegedly trying to extort businessman Bheki Lukhele of money has vehemently denied doing such.
The soldier, who is accused of having a hand in attempting to extort Lukhele, said he has nothing to do with the offence.
Through his lawyer, Gcina Mhlanga, Zweli Honest Dlamini, said he did not know Lukhele personally when the alleged offence occurred.
He said he only knew the man of God as a businessman and a church leader, who was also in the football circles.
Dlamini emphasized before the commission of the alleged offence, he was enjoying alcoholic beverages with his friends at Ngwane Park in Manzini at night.
He said he shared with his friend that he would have a trip to HiFi Corp in Mbabane concerning his television set, which was not functioning.

“He will tell this court that he decided to go to Mbabane headquarters because he was not assisted in Manzini, where he purchased it.
He will tell this court that one Sihle Gama asked him to fetch his undisclosed parcel from Lukhele next to HiFiCorp,” Mhlanga submitted.
“My client will tell this court that he went to your office just because he was requested by Gama to fetch his parcel. He will state that he was directed by Gama to your office,” he said.
Mhlanga submitted that his client would tell the court that he never introduced himself as an officer from EFIU,
“He introduced himself as Zweli Dlamini which showed that he had no intention to siphon your money,” Mhlanga said. The matter was adjourned until October 8, 2024, for continuation.
