Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage and cherished peace are at the heart of a newly released single titled Kagogo eSwatini by Bobo Rocboy, featuring rising artist Young Zesh, real name Mzwandile Comfort Ginindza. Released on June 24th, the track is now available on YouTube and already making waves among local listeners.

According to Bobo Rocboy (officially Bongani Dlamini, also from Nhlangano), the song was inspired by the prevailing peace in the country, a quality often taken for granted. “The inspiration behind Kagogo eSwatini is the peace we enjoy here, which I wish we could appreciate more openly to even attract more visitors,” he explains.

He says the main message of the song is a gentle reminder to fellow emaSwati to love and be proud of their unique homeland instead of constantly envying other places. “Other countries admire our peace and respect. We should see that too and celebrate it.”

The title Kagogo eSwatini underscores the theme of belonging and cultural roots. Bobo elaborates: “It means our grandmother’s place, our roots, our sense of origin and belonging is here in Eswatini. Even if we go overseas, we’ll always miss the peace of mind and oneness you feel only at home.”

The song’s production process was collaborative and local. It was mainly produced by Liz Harris, based in Nhlangano, with mastering by Sean Cast at Mabonabulawe Studios, where Young Zesh recorded his verse.

So far, feedback on the song has been positive. Bobo says friends and contacts who have heard it through Facebook and WhatsApp links have praised it for its special quality, especially the cover art that proudly features Eswatini’s traditional attire. He hopes more aggressive promotion, including radio play and coverage in print media, will help it reach even wider audiences.

Looking ahead, there are plans to distribute the song on streaming platforms like Spotify, iTunes, and Deezer. The team is also eager to produce a music video that will showcase Eswatini’s scenic beauty in line with the song’s message. “We hope to organize the funds to do it justice and even partner with the tourism sector so it can be truly representative of our pride,” Bobo shares.

Promotion efforts are in full swing, with Bobo Rocboy, Young Zesh, friends, and supporters sharing the YouTube link daily and reaching out to radio broadcasters who have promised airplay. They are also tapping into local print media to spread the word.

Kagogo eSwatini stands as both a love letter to Eswatini and a call for its people to cherish the peace and cultural richness that make the kingdom truly home.
