The decision comes as Mtshali’s contract draws to a close, with the respected leader choosing to explore new professional interests.
Mtshali’s journey with MTN is a story of dedication, vision, and resilience. Starting as a Network Engineer, he rose through the ranks to become Chief Technical Officer in MTN Guinea-Bissau, MTN Eswatini, and MTN South Sudan, before assuming the CEO role in Eswatini.
He led the company during a period marked by the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, steering operations with unwavering commitment, strategic foresight, and innovation.

Under Mr. Mtshali’s stewardship, MTN Eswatini celebrated several remarkable milestones:

Welcoming Jerry Soko as Interim CEO
As part of the transition plan, MTN Eswatini announced that Jerry Soko will take over as Interim CEO effective 1 November 2025, while the search for a substantive CEO continues.
