The showdown between Manzini Remand Centre and Matsapha Correctional was a tightly contested affair, ending in a stalemate during regulation time. With no goals to separate the two sides, the match proceeded to a penalty shoot-out where nerves of steel were required. In netball, it was Matsapha Correctional who reigned supreme, outplaying their opponents to take the top prize. Meanwhile, Big Bend proved unbeatable in darts, and College walked away champions in the pool tournament.
Tug-of-War also brought out the strength and team spirit of participants, with Correctional Headquarters Men and College Women claiming victory in their respective divisions. The athletics segment was dominated by Mbabane Correctional, who were crowned overall winners after displaying exceptional speed, stamina, and technique across track and field events.
Adding a nostalgic and entertaining twist to the day, former soccer legends took to the field for the Old Timers match. These seasoned players, many of whom had hung up their boots years ago, reminded the crowd of their class and flair in an exhibition match that brought joy and memories to fans of all ages.
The Commissioner General’s Cup continues to grow as a celebration of sport, camaraderie, and physical fitness within the Eswatini Correctional Services.
