Africa-Press – Eswatini. Eswatini has taken a giant leap into the digital future with the launch of the Coders Eswatini Program, a transformative partnership between the Government of Eswatini, the Government of the United Arab Emirates, and Udacity, part of Accenture.
The initiative is set to train 300 000 Emaswati in technology, business, and entrepreneurship skills, preparing the nation for the opportunities of a digital economy.
Speaking at the launch, Minister of ICT Savannah Maziya described the programme as life-changing, stressing its role in bridging the digital divide and creating pathways to global opportunities.
“This partnership is not just about digital skills training, it’s about opening doors to opportunities that once felt too far away but are now very close,” she said, expressing gratitude to the UAE for its support in making the initiative possible.
Free, Accessible, and Empowering
The Coders Eswatini Program is free of charge and accessible to all citizens. Training is designed to be self-paced, allowing participants to learn at their own speed, whether on a mobile phone or computer. By dedicating just two hours a day, learners can complete the programme in eight weeks.
At the end of the course, graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion, opening doors to advanced training and employment opportunities in global industries.
Cutting-Edge Courses
The program will offer four foundational tracks that respond to global demand:
Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals
Data Science Fundamentals
Programming Fundamentals
Android Developer Fundamentals
These courses are crafted to give Emaswati not only the skills to thrive in the digital world but also the confidence to innovate and build businesses that can compete internationally.
A Vision for Everyone
Maziya highlighted that the initiative is in line with the Government’s “Government in Your Hand” vision, ensuring that digital access is not a privilege but a right for every citizen.
“We are very excited that these doors are going to enable our youth, and everyone in the country, to access the world and have the world in their hands,” she said.
