Dladla handed over the houses on May 8, 2025, where she celebrated a significant milestone by officially handing over the four newly built houses to beneficiaries in the Hhohho region. This event marked a moment of excitement, joy, and tears as families received much-needed support.
Beneficiary Highlights
Gogo Khumbulile Dlamini (Mpolonjeni, Motshane Inkhundla)
– Previous Situation: Her stick-and-mud house was destroyed by torrential rains in January 2025, leaving her homeless and living in a tent provided by the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA).
– New Home: A two-roomed house constructed by the government through NDMA, providing a stable environment for her children and grandchildren.
Gogo Florence Dlamini (Ekupheleni, Motshane Inkhundla)
– Previous Situation: Lived in a stick-and-mud structure that was even home to a snake, which she had learned to coexist with.
– New Home: Funded by the Wilton Foundation, established by Motshane MP Wilton Nkambule. The government will also provide a water tank and gutters for her new house.
Zandile Motsa (Luhlangotsini, Piggs Peak Inkhundla)
– Previous Situation: Lost her home in 2022 after her husband’s passing. She and her four children along with three grandchildren lived in a tent before receiving community assistance to build a temporary structure.
– New Home: A secure two-roomed house built by the government.
Tembono Khumalo (Mavula, Mayiwane Inkhundla)
– Previous Situation: Endured difficult living conditions after being abandoned by her husband. Her situation was brought to light by Mayiwane MP Sicelo Khungankhosi Dlamini.
– New Home: A newly constructed house to improve her living conditions significantly.
