Africa-Press – Eswatini. That is former Manzini Wanderers agile shot-stopper Zambian Sitali Nyambe, who has resurfaced at the Debmarine Namibian Premier League, after leaving the maroon and white hub giants before the start of the 2022/23 season. The player joined Wanderers at the beginning of the past campaign and immediately made the number one position his own and relegating newly-signed Mbabane Swallows lanky goal-custodian Bongiswa ‘Romerio’ Dlamini to the bench.
Nyambe, after he tendered his resignation at the Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe-coached side reportedly attracted interest from both local and international clubs. The agile goalkeeper was then reported to have left the shores of the kingdom for greener pastures. He was contacted and he disclosed that he was now in Namibia, after penning a lucrative contract with one of the elite league sides in the Debmarine Premiership. “I already have a team playing in the Debmarine Premier League called Okakarara Young Warriors. I have signed a one-year renewable contract with enticing benefits,” he excitedly said.
He also disclosed that Okakarara offered him E150 000 signing-on fee, with a monthly salary of E24 000. “I will also get E2 000 as a winning bonus and E1 000 for a clean sheet. I am planning for a vacation to any place of my choice in southern Africa, come end of the season,” he jokingly said.
He further thanked his erstwhile club Wanderers, for the platform to showcase his talent in the MTN Premier League. “I love Manzini Wanderers so much and I always wanted the best for the team. I wish that one day they will realise how much I worked and carried them over my shoulders, but unfortunately they judged me according to goals I conceded,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Weslians Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza said it was novel to him that Nyambe had signed in Namibia, but was quick to congratulate and wished him the best of luck in his new club.
