Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini football fraternity is in mourning following the untimely passing of Mr. Johannes “Ace” Siboza, a respected administrator and former player who dedicated his life to advancing the beautiful game.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) expressed its deep sorrow, describing Siboza as a man whose passion for football was unmatched and whose contributions left an indelible mark both on and off the pitch.
Siboza’s service to football spanned decades. He was a member of the EFA Executive Committee, Chairperson of the Manzini Regional Football Association (MRFA), and Secretary of the MRFA. His influence extended beyond national borders, having served on the Competitions Committee of the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA).
As a player, Siboza wore the national colors of Sihlangu SeMnikati and turned out for top local clubs such as Mbabane Highlanders F.C. and Mbabane Dribbling Wizards F.C. His leadership and knowledge later became instrumental in nurturing football administration and development across the Kingdom.
“The loss of Mr. Johannes ‘Ace’ Siboza is profoundly felt within the football federation,” the EFA noted in its statement. “His extensive experience and commitment to the game will be sorely missed.”
The Association further extended heartfelt condolences to Siboza’s family, friends, and the broader football community, invoking Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Known affectionately as “Ace,” Siboza will be remembered as a pillar of Eswatini football whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations. May his soul rest in peace.
