Africa-Press – Eswatini. Across Sub-Saharan Africa, 10 to 12 million youths join the workforce each year, but just 3 million formal positions emerge. At the same time, Europe and the Gulf struggle with severe labor gaps in construction, healthcare, and hospitality. The imbalance is evident, Africa has abundant talent, global demand continues to grow, yet the mechanisms linking both sides remain fragile, inefficient, and largely overlooked.
When migration functions effectively, its impact is remarkable. Moving from a low-income to a high-income nation can boost earnings by 400 to over 1,000% in just a year. Contrary to concerns about “brain drain,” research indicates that migration can actually expand the pool of skilled professionals.
Labor mobility stands as one of the most effective tools for reducing poverty, yet it remains severely neglected by responsible technology innovations. The growing youth employment crisis in Africa must align with the global demand for labor.

Enable cross-border worker mobility within Africa or globally through recruitment, placement, or service management.
Provide supportive services for migrants such as financial tools, language training, compliance, or housing.
Extend existing jobtech solutions to address labor mobility.
Registered startups developing cross-border labor mobility solutions for Africans are encouraged to apply.
