Africa-Press – Eswatini. Umliba Loyembili Edupreneurs is rewriting the narrative for out-of-school youth and women through education, digital skills, and entrepreneurship training.
The organisation was founded by educator and community empowerment advocate Nomfundo Ngcamphalala. The non-profit organisation is creating second chances for people left behind by the traditional education system.
Ngcamphalala, is a qualified teacher with over eight years of classroom experience, saw first hand how poverty, teenage pregnancy, and limited opportunities led many young people to drop out of school. This sparked the idea to build a platform where education is both accessible and practical.
“I realised that education must go beyond the classroom. It must equip people with skills that can improve their lives and communities,” she said.
Nomfundo is a graduate from the University of Eswatini with a Diploma in Commerce, Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Ngcamphalala has combined her academic background with hands-on experience in online learning, course development, and digital business.
Through Umliba Loyembili Edupreneurs, she now offers literacy and numeracy lessons, digital and entrepreneurship training, STEM experiences, and online secondary education for youth and adult learners. The aim is to empower them to start their own initiatives, find employment, or become community leaders.
Despite challenges such as limited funding and mindset barriers in rural communities, Ngcamphalala remains committed. “Some still doubt the potential of online learning, especially in rural areas. But we are proving that innovation and education can reach anywhere “she said.
Her message to the youth “Start where you are with what you have. Your background doesn’t define you your choices do.”
