Africa-Press – Eswatini. Mancoba Sihlongonyane (32), Hlophe Melusi (25), and Tenanile Ngcamphalala emerged as the top performers at the army recruitment exercise in Manzini South Constituency, during the demanding 3.2 km fitness race.

The exercise, held this afternoon, attracted numerous aspiring soldiers, all vying for limited slots in the next stage of army training. The event was overseen by Manzini Mayor Wesley Dlamini, Bucopho, and the Indvuna Yenkhundla of Manzini South, who observed the candidates’ endurance, discipline, and determination.

From the starting line, the recruits gave their all, pushing through the physically challenging course. At the halfway mark, many were tested to their limits, but the winners dug deep and powered forward.

In the male category, Sihlongonyane crossed the finish line first, claiming the top spot, while Melusi secured second place, expressing his joy at qualifying and noting that his greatest wish is to improve the situation at home. In the female category, Ngcamphalala, representing Sitsebe SaMhlekazi and Young Buffaloes, finished first, showcasing remarkable strength and determination.

Brigadier Sotja Dlamini praised the smooth conduct of the exercise and congratulated all the winners. He wished them success as they move on to the next stages of official army training and encouraged candidates from other constituencies to remain patient until their recruitment exercises take place in their rightful areas.

The Manzini South recruitment highlighted not only physical endurance but also resilience, focus, and dedication among the winners, setting a high standard for future aspirants and inspiring others to pursue their ambitions in the defence forces.
