Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) has expressed deep appreciation to His Majesty’s Government for fully supporting the Fund’s transformation into a National Pension Scheme.

ENPF Chief Executive Officer, Futhie Tembe, thanked Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini and Cabinet for their leadership in approving the Eswatini National Provident Fund Bill, 2025, which is currently before Parliament. The Bill paves the way for a new pension system that will secure retirement income for all economically active emaSwati.

“We are truly grateful to His Majesty’s Government, the Prime Minister, and Cabinet for their unwavering support of this reform,” Tembe said. “ENPF will continue to be transparent and accountable, ensuring that the conversion process is handled efficiently and always in the best interests of our members and the nation.”

The Prime Minister, who visited the ENPF stand at the Eswatini International Trade Fair in Manzini, reaffirmed government’s full backing for the Fund’s bold transition. He said the reform would guarantee that members receive a monthly pension for life after retirement while also providing survivors’ benefits for spouses and children.

“This reform is not just about pensions; it is about poverty alleviation and strengthening hope for the nation,” Dlamini said.

He further praised ENPF for its stewardship and sound management of members’ contributions, describing the transition as a testament to the institution’s strong governance and solid business model.

Tembe, alongside ENPF General Manager Corporate Services Sindi Mango and staff, welcomed the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Thuli Dladla, and Minister of Labour and Social Security Hon. Phila Buthelezi at the Trade Fair.

“This reform is about protecting livelihoods, reducing poverty, and securing a dignified future for every liSwati,” Tembe emphasised. “With the trust of our members and the full support of government, ENPF will deliver a pension system that benefits current and future generations.”

The ENPF National Pension Scheme is expected to mark a new chapter in social protection, ensuring dignity and security for emaSwati beyond their working years.
