Africa-Press – Eswatini. Over 30 music conductors gathered at the Manzini Club for a post-mortem meeting hosted by the Eswatini Bank Schools Choral Music Association (ESCMA), following the success of this year’s national schools choral music competitions.

The meeting, held yesterday and attended by adjudicators, support staff, and the organizing committee, served as a platform to evaluate the event’s performance and impact. This year’s competition, hosted at Divine Healing Ministries Auditorium and the UNESWA Sports Emporium, marked 20 years of ESCMA’s partnership with Eswatini Bank in promoting musical excellence among schools.

According to ESCMA Chairperson Sithembiso Dlamini, the engagement with conductors provided critical insights that will shape the future of the programme.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s event and thankful to the alumni conductors whose mentorship continues to enrich the experience for young musicians,” he said.

During discussions, conductors praised the overall organization of the event, the high standard of student performances, and the strong sense of community. However, they also pointed out areas for improvement, including the need for clearer judging criteria, better pianist coordination, and stricter adherence to time schedules.

The committee welcomed the constructive feedback and expressed gratitude to Eswatini Bank and the public for their support in making the competition a success.

As ESCMA looks ahead, the focus remains on strengthening the platform for emerging talent, fostering collaboration, and maintaining the competition’s legacy of musical excellence.
