Africa-Press – Eswatini. Team Eswatini has landed safely in Harare, Zimbabwe, ahead of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Southern Regional Senior Championships. The team, which will represent the Kingdom of Eswatini in one of the region’s top-tier athletics events, touched down earlier today after departing from King Mswati III International Airport (Sikhuphe) this morning.

Leading the national squad is seasoned coach Sibusiso Matsenjwa, himself a decorated sprinter and respected figure in Eswatini athletics. The team received a warm send-off at the airport, graced by the President of Athletics Eswatini as well as Chief Mgebiseni of Ngculwini uMphakatsi, who also serves as the Director of the Ngculwini Athletics Club. Their presence was a symbol of the support and pride carried by the nation for the athletes as they embark on their regional mission.

The CAA Southern Region Senior Championships, hosted annually, brings together elite athletes from across Southern Africa to compete in various track and field events. For Eswatini, the competition is a key opportunity to test the nation’s best talents against regional powerhouses, sharpen competitive edge, and build momentum toward continental and global stages.
