ESWATINI MOBILE CELEBRATES EXCELLENCE WITH RED AWARDS

Africa-Press – Eswatini. In a vibrant show of appreciation and unity, Eswatini Mobile on Wednesday, July 24, 2025, honoured its top-performing employees during the company’s annual Red Awards ceremony, an initiative that underscores the company’s philosophy of putting its people first.

The Red Awards, held at the company’s training room, are an internal recognition programme aimed at celebrating employees who go above and beyond in embodying Eswatini Mobile’s core values: Agility, Accountability, Commitment, Teamwork, and Embracing Change. Winners are nominated and voted for by their colleagues, making the awards a true reflection of peer respect and acknowledgment.

At the heart of this year’s ceremony was the coveted Red Star Award, the highest honour presented to the overall top-performing employee. This year’s recipient, Bheki Simelane, received a fully paid three-day trip to Cape Town and a E20,000 shopping voucher for his unwavering commitment, innovation, and operational excellence.

Simelane also scooped two additional accolades, Operational Excellence and Innovation, for his instrumental role in developing internal systems, resolving customer issues through technology, creating a Sim Swap app for agents, and building platforms for live draws. He was recognised for consistently challenging the status quo and introducing forward-thinking solutions that improve workflow, efficiency, and customer experience.

“Simelane is a shining example of the talent and drive we have at Eswatini Mobile. His contributions speak volumes, not just in performance but in inspiring others to think differently, work smarter, and serve better,” said Welile Msibi, Head of People and Culture.

The awards also recognised excellence across several other categories:

Best Sales Award: Sandile Dlamini

Dlamini was honoured for achieving over 60% of his sales target, retaining high-profile clients, and consistently demonstrating proactive problem-solving in his sales approach—even when resources were limited.

Customer Service Award: Bongi Mdluli

Recognised for his exceptional communication skills and positive attitude, Mdluli has shown a strong commitment to improving the customer experience, including constant monitoring of satisfaction levels and Net Promoter Scores (NPS).

Risk and Fraud Identification Award: Nomphumelelo Maziya

Maziya was awarded for her attention to detail and commitment to compliance. She played a key role in identifying unlawful use of company resources internally and externally while safeguarding data protection processes within the Group.

Value Champion Award: Bahlelelwe Dlamini

Dlamini stood out for her consistent demonstration of Eswatini Mobile’s core values. Known for her professionalism, integrity, and regular participation in company DNA sessions, she often volunteers to speak and has become a positive ambassador of the company’s vision.

Eswatini Mobile CEO Sydney Sichula, who attended and spoke at the event, applauded the winners and reaffirmed the company’s belief in people-first leadership.

“At Eswatini Mobile, our people are not just employees, they are the company. They bring the ideas, energy, and execution that keep us moving forward,” said Sichula. “These awards are a celebration of the people who consistently go the extra mile and uphold the values that define our brand.”

The ceremony concluded in jubilant celebration as colleagues cheered, sang, and ululated in support of the winners, particularly Simelane, whose clean sweep earned widespread admiration.

Msibi noted that the Red Awards are not only about celebrating past success but also inspiring future performance.

“Recognition is one of the greatest motivators. We want every employee to know that their efforts matter and that excellence does not go unnoticed,” she said.

Msibi reiterated that with the Red Awards, Eswatini Mobile is reinforcing a message that runs deep within its culture: talent is treasured, effort is rewarded, and people are the most valuable asset in driving success.
