Africa-Press – Eswatini. A group of powerful women rights activists is allegedly plotting a protest that seeks to lobby others to deny their men sex for at least one month,in demand for democratic reforms.

“I don’t know how you managed to get this information because we were discussing it informally, nothing has been finalized. But if it eventually happens,it would be announced prior so that women can prepare themselves.Ngoba nawati kutsi utawuzila kudla kumele utilungiselele udle wesutse ungatokhala ngendlala,”said the human rights lawyer jockily.

Speaking to this publication,Bonsile Mamba, the Chairperson of the Swaziland Rural Women Assembly(SRWA)said even though the idea might result to men challenging them in terms of conjugal rights,it was worth it to create awareness and intensify the struggle and or calls for democracy.

“It’s complicated because men can challenge us demanding their conjugal rights. But as women we are saying if it’s one of the ways that will help us attain democracy, we can do it. Ngoba indvodza wayincisha licansi usuke u-challenger i-ego yayo, so nangabe sitsi le-democracy siyifuna mbamba,we can use this strategy.Uma singatsi nje sex abstenence for a month, maybe kungagudvu-gudvutisa le-democracy,”said the Chairperson of the Swaziland Rural Women Assembly.
