Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has today unveiled the long-anticipated Grand Plan, a visionary, 30-year national blueprint poised to reshape the Kingdom’s future and elevate it into the league of developed nations.

Speaking at the vibrant Grand Plan engagement with the House of Assembly at Pigg’s Peak Hotel, the PM described the moment as “the beginning of our long walk to Eswatini’s socio-economic freedom.”

“Less than two years ago, this was a wild idea. Today, it is a national mission,” he said with passion. “We now have in our hands a draft that responds directly to the Sibaya mandate—a plan that will take Eswatini beyond short-term goals and toward inclusive, long-lasting prosperity.”

A Grand Strategy Rooted in Realism

The Grand Plan is structured around three transformative pillars: Economic Transformation, Social Transformation, and Government Transformation. It aims to unlock broad-based prosperity, tackle structural challenges such as youth unemployment and underdeveloped infrastructure, and move Eswatini toward high-income status within the next 30 years.

What sets this plan apart is its clarity of vision, its inclusivity, and its daring ambition. “This is not just another policy document,” declared the Prime Minister. “It is ambitious, innovative, and realistic. It’s designed to attract minds from all walks of life, to ignite participation and to inspire national pride.”

From Promise to Purpose

The Premier was quick to acknowledge past national plans that laid vital groundwork, from boosting agricultural productivity to expanding education and SME support. But he was equally candid about the need for a more comprehensive approach to address ongoing challenges like limited private sector growth and fiscal constraints.

“Eswatini stands at a crossroads,” he emphasized. “The Grand Plan is our response to decades of incremental changes. It is time for bold steps, for unity of purpose, and for an unwavering commitment to the future.”

A People-Driven Journey

Crafted with input from young, dedicated professionals and benchmarked against continental best practices, the Grand Plan is not the end, but a beginning. The PM encouraged all Members of Parliament and stakeholders to critique, contribute, and shape the final version to reflect the collective aspirations of Emaswati.

“This is our moment,” he said. “If we pull in the same direction, united by our love for this kingdom, there is nothing we cannot achieve.”

Looking Ahead

With Cabinet already briefed and further input invited, the Grand Plan is set to be refined and formally adopted in the coming months. The journey toward Eswatini’s transformation has begun, and with it, a renewed hope for every Liswati.

As the nation dares to dream bigger, one thing is clear: the future of Eswatini is not only grand, it is bright.
