Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has confirmed that Mbabane Highlanders Football Club will continue to operate under its current name until further notice.
This follows reports that the club, also known as Black Bull, had submitted a request to change its official name late tha the stipulateddeadline.
According to the EFA, regulations require clubs to lodge such requests before a set cutoff date to allow for proper processing and approval. Unfortunately, Highlanders missed this window, making it impossible to effect the change immediately.
Despite this, the football governing body indicated that the matter has not been entirely closed. The club’s request is still under review, with possibilities of leniency being considered. Should the EFA grant special approval, Highlanders might yet secure the desired name change in the near future.
For now, however, the historic side will retain the Mbabane Highlanders FC identity as the 2025 season unfolds.
