Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Grace Centre Church donated toiletries worth E15 000 to His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS), reinforcing its commitment to supporting the rehabilitation and well-being of inmates across the country.
The donation was officially handed over on Saturday June 28 at the HMCS Headquarters in Mbabane. It was received by Commissioner Phindile Glory Sibandze on behalf of the Commissioner General, LaMakhosini Phindile Dlamini.
The church, under the leadership of Prophet Agape Eternity, provided essential toiletry packs containing Vaseline, toothpaste, soap, body lotion, roll-on, and face cloths.
Prophet Agape Eternity highlighted that the gesture was not only about meeting physical needs but also about extending spiritual encouragement to those behind bars.
“We are here not only to give but to share the word of God. Praying for and helping inmates is important because many have found purpose and transformation during their time in prison. Even the Bible shows that people like Joseph, the Apostle Paul, and Peter were imprisoned but God used those moments to shape their destinies. Their stories remind us that prison can be a place of breakthrough, not just confinement,” he said.
Commissioner Sibandze thanked the church for its generosity, noting that many inmates face daily challenges in accessing basic hygiene products.
“This donation will go a long way in restoring dignity and improving the well-being of the inmates. We are grateful for both the material and spiritual support offered by Grace Centre Church,” she said.
The initiative is part of the church’s broader mission to uplift the underprivileged and bring hope to those in challenging circumstances.
The church visit served not only as a charitable outreach but also as a reminder that every individual, regardless of their past, deserves compassion, dignity, and the opportunity for redemption.
This act of generosity reflects the vital role that faith-based organisations continue to play in supporting national institutions and promoting social cohesion.
