INAUGURAL POETRY AWARDS 2024/25 LAUNCHED BY OGF MOVEMENT

Africa-Press – Eswatini. In a ground-breaking initiative, the OGF Movement has established the first-ever Poetry Awards 2024/25, aimed at celebrating and recognizing the hard work of poets in the country.

The award ceremony is scheduled for June 28, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Bethel Court Vineyard Hotel.

This initiative seeks to give the poetry industry the attention it deserves, acknowledging the effort and creativity involved in this art form as confirmed by OGF Movement Anthonimass Mabaso.

The introductory phase of the awards features six categories:

– Best Upcoming Poet

– Best Female Poet

– Best Poetry Show

– Best Poetry Book/Writer

– Best Poetry Album/EP

– Best Poet of the Year

The awards will unfold in two stages. The first stage is the nomination phase, where fans and supporters can nominate their favorite poets in each category. The top four names with the highest reactions will move on to the voting stage. Nominations will be conducted on the War Words Poetry Show Facebook page, and after the nomination period, the nominees will be officially announced, followed by the opening of voting lines.

“We call upon all poets to partake in the awards. For too long, poets have not been celebrated enough, and this is their moment to shine,” stated Mabaso. The organization is also inviting corporates to partner or offer sponsorships to ensure the success of this award ceremony.

The awards will be infused with the War Words 6 Poetry Show, featuring Siya Imbongi and other talented poets. Tickets are already available for purchase at www.smartticket.co.za.

The public is encouraged to stay connected with updates on the War Words Poetry Show page and the OGF Movement for the latest developments regarding the awards. This initiative marks a significant step forward in recognizing and celebrating the art of poetry in the country.
