INKABI NATION THRILLS MOTORSPORT WEEKEND

Africa-Press – Eswatini. ESWATINI Motorsport Weekend rocked fun lovers on Saturday night as Inkabi Nation (Big Zulu and Lwah Ndlunkulu) literally left them yearning for more.

In the early hours of yesterday morning, Lwah Ndlunkulu hopped to the stage and delivered a blazing performance, which was met with resounding cheers and screams from the crowd.

She performed some of her most well-known songs such as ‘Ithuba’, ‘Ngiyeza’ and ‘Eyami’ which saw audience members sing along to each word.

During her performance, she occasionally added traditional Zulu dance moves to get the crowd going. After her performance she got the crowd even more hyped up with anticipation for the next act, Big Zulu.

The ‘Imali Eningi’ hitmaker expressed his love for Eswatini and joked that perhaps it was time for him to have his own accommodation in the country to shelter him whenever he came to perform.

The artist promised to participate in the spinning activities after his performance and lamented that he had come after a majority of the motor performers had concluded their performance. Unfortunately, he was unable to deliver on his promise.

He proceeded to perfom his hit-songs as the audience became overwhelmed with euphoria. Songs he performed included ‘Ivolovolo’, ‘Umbayimbayi’, and ‘Voicemail’. He added an exclusive song which he stated was being heard in Eswatini for the first time.

This exclusive, however, was also briefly previewed at the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle festival when the artist was performing.

He was joined on stage by Lwah Ndlunkulu and they performed a few songs together. They further occasionally joked about Lwah Ndlunkulu having a plethora of options regarding male suitors in the audience.

She light-heartedly rebutted, however, that she preferred the ladies in the event.

Some sound technicalities put a dent to the otherwise smooth performance of Big Zulu but he soon resumed to full swing after they were resolved.

Big Zulu’s performance ended with the revellers demanding more songs from him. He occasionally obliged as he added a few songs to his set. One of the songs he performed had an amapiano element to it.

Sdala B then took over immediately and had fun lovers on their toes, showing off their best dance moves to his set.

HIGH SPIRITS AS BIG ZULU PERFORMS

IN a brief moment of hysteria, a fan got carried away and overwhelmed with emotions.

Tears fell down her eyes as she somehow found a way to approach the stage to get a better glimpse of the artist. While holding her hand, Big Zulu asked her why she was crying.

He then stated that it was necessary that someone kept an eye on her. He also asked that she be escorted away from the stage.

Speaking to this publication, she shared that her name was Sebenele Magagula and was a long-time fan of the artist. She said she was just hoping to see him from up-close as he was doing his thing.

“I love him so much and I just wanted a closer glimpse of him as he performed rather than being far from him,” she said.

These high spirits were also seen after he ended his performance as fans, driven by emotion, yelled that he continues performing their favourite songs.

LOCAL ACTS STEAL THE SHOW IN EARLY HOURS

LOCAL acts also thoroughly thrilled during the Motorsport show as DJs such as Culolam played sets that was successful in moving the audience.

His set had a mixture of the old school music and new hits, which proved to be splendid.

A performance that stole the show, however, was that of The Trend Twins, who performed for well over an hour. The twins, curated a hypnotic, Afro-house set, which was occasionally decorated by their well choregraphed dance moves. In an unexpected moment, the duo climbed the railings of the stage and performed their dance moves on it. Other highlights included Gogo and Slwane delivering their brand of humour on stage. They were then joined by singer and dancer, M Nation, who performed some of his well-known songs such as ‘Limuva Lami’. They shared light-hearted moments on stage as they danced together. Samu Once Again performed after M Nation but unfortunately had her set disrupted by more sound mishaps.

Nonetheless, the fire of the event still blazed as later on, DJ Lady Zee performed a memorable performance. Her mix resulted in many hopping on the stage to show off their dance moves.

Apart from the musical entertainment, the motoring aspect proved to be equally thrilling and entertaining. Spinners from around the SADC region came through to showcase their best drifting and spinning skills. These included teams from Mozambique, South Africa and Botswana. Local crews also thrilled with their skills at the arena.

Danger and beauty were blended as the popular spinner, Scorpion, drifted his car around models who were modelling in the middle of the arena, which added to the atmosphere of risk and adrenaline.
