Africa-Press – Eswatini. Paul Matimela, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) was abducted last year during the June 29 Massacre Commemoration, he was tortured by the police for almost six(6) hours merely for calling for democracy.
Now that he has been granted asylum by the Government of Ireland, we are seeing some Tinkhundla hungry ‘fools’ saying the lives of Paul Matimela and that of SWALIMO International Mandlenkhosi Gift Dlamini were not in danger in an attempt to try and downplay the seriousness of the persecution in this country.
Well, in every country there are political fools but stupidity must be corrected because a false narrative becomes the ‘truth’ in the minds or eyes of the gullible if left unchallenged or corrected.
Every vulnerable Liswati is in danger in this country whether that citizen is actively involved in politics or not, children are murdered for ritual purposes and some emaSwati were shot and killed during the unrest while returning from work,they were not protesting.
Even former Nhlambeni Member of Parliament(MP) Frans Dlamini who is in Ireland, we will appreciate if the Irish Government could grant him asylum as long as he is able to articulate how he felt his life was in danger, there was a time when high profile people were targeted and killed, we don’t know if Frans Dlamini was a target or not.
It is important to understand that, the Government of Ireland is not only granting pro-democracy activists asylum but even loyalists of the current undemocratic regime can apply if they feel their lives “are in danger”.
This tendency of thinking that, a person you disagree with politically, must be isolated and suffer is absolutely wrong.
The Government of Ireland conducted an independent investigation and reached an objective decision suggesting that, Paul Matimela and Gift Mandlenkhosi Dlamini deserve an asylum and to reduce that to a mere search for better employment opportunities is not only unjust but, a continuation of the oppression in this country where emaSwati with different political views are made to suffer.
Tinkhundla must understand that, once a citizen “takes a decision to skip the country, then the Government have no control whatsoever, over the life of that person, whether that individual is seen enjoying life in Ireland or South Africa it’s literally none of the Tinkhundla regime’s business”.
Life must be enjoyed, political activists and human rights defenders who managed to be granted asylum in other countries must enjoy life while strategizing on how to liberate this country.
Indeed, they must never feel ashamed to be seen in Ireland restaurants having a good life, before you liberate others you must liberate yourself and defeat poverty so that your mind could be stable.
It is for this reason I am suggesting that, emaSwati must secure jobs in Ireland and have a good life but never forget the poor emaSwati who must be liberated from the oppressive hand of King Mswati and his Government.
The Government of Ireland must be applauded for accomodating emaSwati, loyalists of the Tinkhundla undemocratic and oppressive regime must know that they don’t rule the world, you can persecute a person but other countries will welcome that person and use his/her skills for social and economic development.
Personally, there’s a country in Asia where I am treated with dignity because that country respects my skill and is giving me more training to work and improve my life.
Indeed, some of us fled our country poor and we don’t want to come back home poor because we have two(2) objectives, to liberate emaSwati but at the same time, improve our lives.
Other countries are not like eSwatini where fools are elevated to powerful positions and intelligent people like businessman Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza who became a millionaire at the age of twenty-eight(28), are arrested and labelled as terrorists merely for calling for democracy.
The citizens who are leaving this country will use their skills in Ireland while eSwatini forces citizens to undergo kubutseka;
“Ngiyawashiya emabele!!!!!”.
Stupid people must learn to enjoy their stupidity in their own spaces and refrain from inviting others, let’s allow emaSwati in Ireland to work and improve their lives, we want citizens to have a better life.
