Africa-Press – Eswatini. A boost for grassroots football! Five social teams under the Mbabane Social League have received a generous donation of jersey kits from the Member of Parliament for Mbabane East, Welcome Dlamini.
The handover ceremony took place today at the Mbabane East Inkhundla offices, with representatives from the beneficiary teams Amajita Social, Downtown, Mgababa, PTS Mess, and Sandla present to collect their new kits.
In his remarks, MP Dlamini commended the teams for their discipline and commitment to the sport. “I am proud of the dedication these teams continue to show, and I am committed to supporting them. By 2028, I am looking forward to securing a sponsorship of E100 000 to further strengthen grassroots football in our area,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the league, Bongani Mohammed expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, noting the impact the league has had on players both on and off the field. “We are very grateful to our Honourable MP Welcome Dlamini. When we started the league, it was not about money but fitness and discipline. This league has helped many of us build healthier habits and look forward to every match day with excitement,” he said.
The Mbabane Social League continues to grow as a platform that not only promotes football but also encourages discipline, fitness, and community spirit among adults.
