Africa-Press – Eswatini. Amid global tensions that dominate public attention, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been united with millions of others around the globe for their ongoing annual convention to promote the timely theme, “Pursue Peace.”

Jehovah’s Witnesses have been holding global conventions for more than 100 years. Following the practice of the past two years. This year’s virtual program has been released incrementally throughout July and August. The three-day convention is available in six parts each corresponding to a half day of content. The first session was watched during the weekend of July 2-3, 2022. The final weekend of the virtual event is scheduled for this month.

“This convention is an object lesson in how peace is being achieved by a global community right now as it unites millions of people even in areas of conflict like Ukraine and Russia,” said Jehovah’s Witnesses Local Spokesperson Lucky Dlamini. “The power of the principles being discussed transcends national borders, ethnic differences, and language barriers. Both individuals and families are benefiting from attending this program.”

Dlamini said this year’s convention with the theme ‘Pursue Peace’ is very timely, “It is very important to have peace with oneself during these times as we continue to grapple against the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and inflationary pressures that cause so much anxiety. The convention has been addressing these areas and showing practical ways to deal with these situations successfully.”

Dlamini invited the public to attend the event by going to JW.ORG or JW Broadcasting on the free JW Library App, or streaming platforms such as ROKU TV or Apple TV. “The program is free and accessible to all,” he said.

Dlamini said topics that are explored by this year’s program are; how love leads to inner peace with others, why the Bible can be called the road map to family peace, how to attain peace even when suffering from illness, economic problems, natural disasters or other difficulties, what people from around the world are doing to enjoy peace, and why friendship with God can lead to true peace.

To promote this convention, Jehovah’s Witnesses from all over the world have embarked on a global campaign to invite interested ones to the virtual program. This year’s campaign is anticipated to reach many people since Jehovah’s Witnesses resumed public witnessing on June 1, 2022.

After two years of suspended public witnessing activities in areas such as Metropolitan public spaces, streets, business areas, bus stations, near tertiary institutions, prisons, and harbors have been used.
