“The purpose of the festival is to help the creatives of the region to re-connect with their culture as well as influence their buying patterns,” he explained. The ‘Limuva lami’ hitmaker said the festival will have six segments which include; food, fashion and style, short films, awards, comedy, poetry and music.
Unforgettable
“We want to give Piggs Peak patrons an unforgettable experience. We will cater for food lovers, fashion gurus and film lovers. The catch here is that all the content will be from creative artists from all around the region,” he said.
The venue will soon be announced by this publication. He went on to explain that the festival was an opportunity in waiting, to give Piggs Peak a form of leadership towards peace, talent development, poverty alleviation and socio-economic development.
“The festival will not only benefit local arts but can be used to reach new markets and re-affirm certain brands, including educating the youth on the effects of climate change, life skills and promoting a change in social behaviour, with focus towards stemming the rising tide of gender based violence (GBV), mental health and HIV/AIDS,” he added.
Assistance
M Nation, who is also known to be the first event organiser to host Durban based stable artists, Afrotainment in his home town Piggs Peak, pleaded for financial assistance for this upcoming festival. “The M Nation Foundation is inviting local businesses, organisations, companies and individuals to contribute towards the growing of a homebrew festival to celebrate Piggs Peak.
