Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini International Trade Fair Basketball Tournament 2025 came to an amazing conclusion last night, with packed stands at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre witnessing high-octane action, passionate fans, and historic victories.
In the men’s final, Mbabane Jazz etched their name in glory after defeating Manzini Superstars 78–66 in a fiercely contested encounter. The Jazz displayed resilience and tactical brilliance, pulling away in the final quarter to secure the much-coveted championship trophy. Their standout guard, Olwethu “Ollie” Nkhosi, was deservedly named the Men’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his dominant performance throughout the tournament.
On the women’s side, the Amazons cemented their dominance in Eswatini basketball after overpowering Dunkylaine Lioneers 46–28 in the title decider. The Amazons controlled the game with sharp defense and fast breaks, earning them the gold medal. Star forward Sabusiswa “Funky” Shabangu walked away with the Women’s MVP Award, following her inspirational leadership and consistency on the court.
The battle for third place was just as intense. In the men’s category, Zim Zim edged out Mbabane Knicks 74–73 in a nail-biting finish, while Lady Jazz rounded off the podium in the women’s division.
Speaking after the finals, tournament organizers expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support, noting how their energy fueled the competitive spirit of the games.
