Mozambique Speaker Tours New Halaal Shop in Matsapha

Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Embiveni Halaal Shop in Matsapha welcomed distinguished guests on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, when Her Excellency Hon. Margarida Adamugy Talapa, Speaker of the Parliament of Mozambique, visited the newly opened facility.

She was accompanied by Eswatini Senate President Pastor Lindiwe Dlamini and a high-level delegation of Mozambican and local dignitaries.

The visit marked a proud milestone for Embiveni Meat Market, which opened the Halaal outlet inside the Eswatini Meat Industries (EMI) factory to serve Eswatini’s Muslim community and neighbouring markets.

The shop offers premium Halaal-certified beef cuts such as Picanha, Thick Rump, Silverside, Fillet Super, Chuck Super, and Stewing Beef, all processed to meet strict Islamic standards of purity, hygiene, and faith.

Management explained that the initiative was more than a business move, it was about inclusivity, cultural respect, and responding to the needs of a diverse society.

“This visit is not just a recognition of our shop, but a celebration of our role in serving the Halaal community,” said Embiveni MD Phindile Matsebula.

“We are proud to provide meat that meets both religious and health standards. For us, this is about building trust and lasting relationships with all communities we serve.”

The Mozambican delegation purchased a variety of Halaal products during the tour, a gesture that underlined their confidence in Embiveni’s offering. Her Excellency was also presented with a special gift pack of Embiveni products, symbolising the company’s gratitude and commitment to regional partnerships.

The shop’s opening, management added, directly supports His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of a First World Eswatini, where businesses are encouraged to be innovative, inclusive, and responsive to modern societal needs. By ensuring that Muslim consumers have reliable access to Halaal products, Embiveni is helping position Eswatini as a regional hub for quality meat and cross-border trade.

The visit by Mozambique’s top legislator further highlighted the regional importance of the venture, cementing Embiveni’s reputation as a pioneer in the meat industry. Beyond profit, the company continues to focus on accessibility, cultural integration, and national development goals.

Emaswati are encouraged to visit the new shop in Matsapha to experience Embiveni’s promise of premium, 100% Halaal-certified meat. Whether Muslim or non-Muslim, all customers can shop with confidence, knowing every cut meets the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and authenticity.
