Africa-Press – Eswatini. Welcome Dlamini, the Mbabane East Member of Parliament(MP) says, he sent his pregnant wife Ncobile Mpila-Dlamini to Mbabane Government Hospital and fortunately, she managed to deliver a baby boy without complications.
Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, the MP maintained his previous statement suggesting that, the Medical Aid for MPs must be withdrawn so that, all MPs could be treated at Mbabane Government Hospital and work towards addressing the health crisis.
“I maintain that our Medical Aid must be withdrawn so that we can feel the pain as well amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals. I told my pregnant wife that, even though we have a Medical Aid, you must go to Mbabane Government Hospital to deliver our baby there. Fortunately, she managed to deliver our boy without complications. What I am suggesting is; as MPs we must experience the suffering of emaSwati there so that we can address this health crisis,” said the Mbabane East MP.
MP Dlamini has been vocal about the health crisis, demanding the supply of drugs in public hospitals, he previously said “Parliament will not take this matter seriously if MPs are receiving medical treatment in private hospitals and clinics with the State funded Medical Aid”.
