The highlight of the day came as members decisively re-elected Mvuselelo Fakudze, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Bank Eswatini, to continue as President of Business Eswatini.

“This is not an endorsement of the status quo, but a mandate to accelerate,” Fakudze declared after his victory, his words met with applause. “With the strategic addition of Anthony in Trade & Commerce and the redeployment of Muzi in Industrial Relations, our board is ready to champion a competitive, inclusive, and resilient economy.”

Strengthening the Leadership Team

The elections, conducted seamlessly via the OpaVote online platform, reaffirmed Business Eswatini’s commitment to transparency and efficiency. Alongside Fakudze’s renewed mandate, the AGM delivered key leadership shifts:

Muzi Siyaya, Managing Director of Ubombo Sugar, now takes the reins as Vice President – Industrial Relations, bringing his wealth of industrial experience.

Anthony Geldard, CEO of LOGICO, was elected Vice President – Trade & Commerce, expected to inject new energy into advancing trade and commerce.

Tokky Hou, Managing Director of Far East Textiles, was re-elected as Chairperson of Business Women Eswatini, a clear nod to her pivotal role in empowering women in business.

The newly constituted board is being hailed as a “perfect blend of proven leadership and innovative vision.” With continuity at the helm and fresh perspectives injected into critical portfolios, Business Eswatini signaled its readiness to steer the Kingdom’s economy toward resilience and global competitiveness.
