Africa-Press – Eswatini. AMBITIOUS side Nsingizini Hotspurs have again muscled their way in the transfer market by elbowing the country’s big guns out of the race for in-demand Tambankulu Celtics defender Nkosingiphile Shongwe.
Such is the weight of the offer on the table for Shongwe that Tambankulu have offered no resistance in giving the green light for their star performer to leave.
Shongwe has been rock solid at the back for his team with a number of teams after his signature.
The talented player was on the radar of Royal Leopard, Young Buffaloes, Mbabane Swallows and Moneni Pirates.
He also produced a world class performance during his side’s match of the Ingwenyama Cup when they knocked out police side Royal Leopard and giving capital city giants Mbabane Swallows a hard time when they scraped through the Lubombo-based side with 1-0 score.
A source close to the matter said Celtics had accepted a huge offer for the player from the Shiselweni-based side.
“Nkosingiphile should be unveiled soon as a new Hotspurs player after his assessment with the team went well.
“The Celtics director has been in negotiations with other teams over the past two days and it seems everything is above board and he is excited about the move. “What I can tell you is that the money is good,” said the source.
Nsingizini Hotspurs CEO Banele Ngobe said they were still working on a deal and that they would finalise it soon.
“We are still in negotiations with his club and so far there are no contracts signed. We will officially unveil any new players once we have finalised all our transfer business,” he said.
The move comes just before the January transfer deadline, which is scheduled for tomorrow at midnight. Shongwe joins the team after what has been a busy window for Insingizi Yezulu, who have already signed Alvin Bashiele from Denver Sundowns, Sizwe ‘Yeki’ Khumalo from Moneni Pirates and Zimbabwean striker Nyasha Chintuli.
