Africa-Press – Eswatini. Brackenhill Estate to host landmark celebration of local excellence on 25 July 2025.

The Chairman of A Peculiar People, Melusi Zox Dlamini, has officially announced the closure of public voting for the 2025 Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards, with a staggering 90 000+ votes cast. This year’s participation marks a historic high for the initiative, signalling a powerful shift in public sentiment toward embracing and celebrating Eswatini-made products and services.

Speaking in a press statement released on 22 July 2025, Dlamini expressed immense pride in the public’s response. “The unprecedented public participation reflects a growing national pride in locally made products and services, a powerful affirmation of our collective commitment to economic empowerment through local consumption,” he said.

The much-anticipated awards ceremony is set to take place on Friday, 25 July 2025 at Brackenhill Estate, Mbabane. Gates open at 12 PM, with the awards presentation scheduled between 3 PM and 5 PM, deliberately timed to coincide with the iconic Mbabane sunset, a symbolic setting for an event honouring innovation, excellence, and community spirit.

Adding weight to the occasion is the confirmed attendance of the Honourable Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Mancoba Khumalo, who will serve as Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker. The Minister will personally hand over the awards, a gesture Dlamini says reinforces government’s commitment to grassroots entrepreneurship and national economic development.

In a unique highlight, the event will also feature the live auction of an exclusive art piece titled BAGCINI, created by Favourite, 2024’s Consumer Choice Award Winner and creative force behind Favourite Design Studios. This one-of-a-kind centerpiece has been specially commissioned for the 2025 edition and embodies the pride and purpose of Eswatini’s creative economy.

Proceeds from the auction will fund the production of a high-quality audiovisual commercial to anchor Eswatini’s “Buy Local” national campaign. “This campaign is set to amplify the economic and social impact of choosing local, changing mindsets, uplifting businesses, and inspiring a new generation of patriotic consumers,” said Dlamini.

In line with the awards’ sustainability ethos, attendees are encouraged to carpool to the event where possible, easing venue parking congestion and promoting environmental responsibility.

Tickets are now available via smartticket.co.za, and with the energy and elegance promised by this milestone event, the public is urged to secure their spots early.
