Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says Eswatini and Taiwan share a partnership built on principle and progress. The Prime Minister said this when he arrived in the Republic of China (Taiwan) on an official visit where he and the Eswatini delegation were welcomed by Taiwan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, François Chih-chung Wu, at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei.

According to information shared by government, when addressing the media on arrival, the Prime Minister said the Kingdom of Eswatini highly valued its longstanding and trusted friendship with the Republic of China (Taiwan).

“The Kingdom of Eswatini highly values its longstanding and trusted friendship with the Republic of China (Taiwan). Ours is a partnership of principle and progress, strengthened by mutual respect, shared values, and a common commitment to improving the lives of our people,” he said.

The Prime Minister also conveyed warm wishes from His Majesty King Mswati III and the people of Eswatini.

The Prime Minister said he was confident the visit would further strengthen relations between the two countries.

“I am confident that this visit will further consolidate the excellent relations between our two countries and open new avenues of cooperation that deliver lasting benefit for present and future generations,” he said.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will deliver a statement on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III at the Ketagelan Forum where he will present Eswatini’s perspectives on global issues.

He is also expected to hold high-level bilateral engagements with President Lai Ching-te and other senior Taiwanese leaders to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation in trade and investment, technology and innovation, health, agriculture and skills development among other areas.
