Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Sukuma Mfati Women Gathering 2026 hosted successfully on Saturday brought together women from different communities for a day of spiritual growth, empowerment and meaningful discussions centred on faith, family and personal development.
Hosted by Siphesihle Dlamini, popularly known as Makoti Wasemakhaya or Mrs Mbokodo, the event was inspired by the need to create a platform where women could encourage one another, grow in faith and discover their purpose.
The event focused on empowering women with practical and spiritual guidance on building healthy homes, caring for their families and prioritising their own wellbeing. Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including faith, resilience, purpose, mental wellness, cleanliness, abuse, entrepreneurship, bedroom matters and the importance of maintaining strong marriages.
Guest speakers included Archbishop Make Vilakati and Nondumiso Matsebula (Make Dlamini) were invited to share their expertise. Archbishop Vilakati provided spiritual guidance and wisdom, while Make Dlamini encouraged women to prioritise their mental health, practise self-care and explore small business opportunities as a pathway to financial independence.
Mrs Mbokodo said the gathering aimed to remind women that they are valuable, strong and capable of overcoming life’s challenges while also encouraging respect within marriage and strengthening family relationships.
One of the highlights of the event was hearing testimonies from women who shared the struggles they face, particularly those caused by financial dependence. Their stories highlighted the importance of empowering women economically so they can improve their lives and support their families.
Although organising the gathering came with logistical and financial challenges, teamwork and determination ensured the event was a success.
Participants expressed appreciation for the platform, describing it as a safe space where women could heal, connect, share business ideas and learn from one another. Many also requested that similar gatherings be held more frequently.
Following the positive response, Make Mbokodo confirmed plans to make Sukuma Mfati an annual event. Future gatherings are expected to feature more workshops, mentorship programmes and wider community outreach, while welcoming women from all walks of life, including married women, single women and divorcees.
She thanked the organising team, guest speakers, performers, sponsors and members of the Kutawugcina Nkulunkulu Group for their dedication and support in making the event a success.
Looking ahead, Make Mbokodo envisions expanding the Sukuma Mfati movement across Eswatini and South Africa, creating a network of faith-filled, purpose-driven and empowered women who uplift one another and positively impact their communities.
