Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has commended His Majesty King Mswati III for demonstrating exemplary leadership over the past four decades, noting that it has earned admiration not only locally but across the African continent.
The Prime Minister made these remarks on Saturday, April 18, 2026, during the presentation of tetfulo (gifts) to His Majesty at the Mandvulo Grand Hall in Lozitha Palace. The event forms part of preparations for the King’s Ruby Jubilee and his 58th birthday celebrations, set to take place at Somhlolo National Stadium on April 24, 2026.
Leadership recognised beyond borders
Dlamini stated that since ascending to the throne 40 years ago, the King has consistently demonstrated strong and effective leadership. He said this leadership has been evident in the country’s stability and development, while also drawing recognition from across Africa.
According to the Prime Minister, many leaders and nations on the continent have taken note of the King’s approach to governance, with some expressing interest in learning from his leadership style. He said this admiration reflects the respect Eswatini continues to command within regional and continental platforms.
Guided through challenging times
The premier further expressed gratitude to God for granting the King wisdom and strength to lead the nation, particularly during challenging periods. He noted that the King’s guidance has ensured continuity and resilience, even in the face of difficulties.
Dlamini said the King’s ability to navigate such challenges while maintaining unity and direction for the country stands as a testament to his enduring leadership.
Part of jubilee celebrations
The presentation of tetfulo marked a significant moment in the build-up to the Ruby Jubilee celebrations, a milestone commemorating 40 years of His Majesty’s reign. The upcoming national event is expected to draw thousands of Emaswati and international guests, as the country celebrates both the King’s birthday and his legacy of leadership.
