Africa-Press – Eswatini. Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has called on the international community to embrace Eswatini’s enduring philosophy of “Anginasitsa – I have no enemy”, describing it as a powerful foundation for sustainable global peace and trust.
Delivering remarks on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, the Prime Minister addressed the official opening of the International Forum marking the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality and the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality. The high-level gathering was held under the theme “Peace and Trust: Unity of Goals for a Sustainable Future.”
The Forum brought together an impressive assembly of Heads of State and Government from across the world, highlighting a shared commitment to peace, neutrality and constructive dialogue.
Drawing strong parallels between Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality and Eswatini’s philosophy of Anginasitsa, Prime Minister Dlamini emphasized that Eswatini’s approach to statecraft is deeply rooted in peace, respect and non-aggression.
“Anginasitsa is the heartbeat of Swazi statecraft,” said the Prime Minister. “It is our solemn declaration that we regard no nation as an enemy, that we will never initiate aggression, and that every difference must be resolved through patient dialogue and mutual respect.”
He explained that Anginasitsa, like Turkmenistan’s neutrality, is not isolation from the world but an active and principled engagement aimed at promoting peace and cooperation.
The Prime Minister further stressed that conflict produces no true winners and reaffirmed Eswatini’s belief that dialogue, negotiation and perseverance remain the best alternatives to war.
He also reaffirmed Eswatini’s principled participation in multilateral affairs, guided by truthfulness, integrity and sovereign equality, noting that multilateralism must always respect national values and interests.
Looking ahead, Prime Minister Dlamini announced that as the Kingdom of Eswatini prepares to assume the Chairmanship of the SADC Organ Troika on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, it will actively promote African-led solutions, preventive diplomacy and dialogue.
He concluded by reaffirming Eswatini’s commitment to global peace, stating that sustainable peace is achieved when nations choose trust over suspicion, dialogue over division and friendship over enmity.
